Christopher Reeve was the actor who played Superman in the movies. He suffered what is called a "hangman's injury" when his horse Buck stopped suddenly in front of an obstacle and threw Christopher forward. From that time on Christopher was confined to a wheelchair and unable to lead a normal life. His thoughts on Persistence are as follows:
"I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."
Christopher Reeve proved he was a true Superman both on film and in life.
